Now, both our Syracuse and Manlius offices are equipped with the latest technology to detect the most subtle signs of ocular disease.
Our newest version of the Zeiss OCT, or optical coherence tomography, scans the eye 100,000 times in a matter of two seconds. This scanning process, which is quick and painless, allows our doctors to detect the smallest changes in the retina or optic nerve associated with these sight threatening conditions.
The outcome of the test provides our doctors with a high definition, three dimensional view of the ocular structures. It also allows them to compare successive images, looking for possible disease progression over time, permitting for the earliest possible treatment if necessary.
